Effective date: October 6, 2026
This policy lists every cookie and tracking tag on www.thedeadygroup.com, what each one is for, and how to opt out of it. The site has no cookie banner, so this page is the full disclosure.
1. In Short
- The site's own code sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
- Two measurement tags run through Google Tag Manager: Google Analytics 4 and the LinkedIn Insight Tag. PostHog and HubSpot's tracking code load separately. Those providers may set cookies.
- Each provider is described below with a link to its opt-out.
2. What the Site Itself Does
Our own code sets no cookies and does not use your browser's local or session storage. The front-door grader reads public records for the domain you enter and shows the result on the page. We keep a record of the domain checked, its grade, and the HubSpot visitor ID if your browser has one, so we can follow up if you later contact us. The forms send what you type to us, and nothing from them is kept in your browser afterward.
3. Tags Loaded Through Google Tag Manager
Google Tag Manager is a container that loads the tags below, so that we can add, change, or remove a tag without changing the site's code. The cookies come from the tags, not from the container.
Google Analytics 4
Measures visits: which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive, approximate location, and device and browser type. It also records four actions we treat as results: a front-door grade shown, a Review requested, a form submitted, and a sample Review opened. The grade event includes the domain that was checked. It sets first-party cookies whose names begin with _ga. The events we send contain no names, email addresses, or message text.
Opt out: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's practices are described in its Privacy Policy.
LinkedIn Insight Tag
Lets LinkedIn report aggregate information to us about visits to this site from LinkedIn, such as job function, industry, and company size. To do that, LinkedIn may set its own cookies and load a small image from its servers, and it may recognize a visitor who is signed in to LinkedIn.
Opt out: LinkedIn cookie preferences (for visitors without an account) or your LinkedIn advertising settings (for members). See also the LinkedIn Cookie Policy.
PostHog
Records how visitors use the site: pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, and device and browser details. It can play a visit back as a recording, which we use to find parts of pages that confuse people. Everything typed into a form field is masked in the browser before anything is sent. PostHog keeps a random visitor ID in the first-party cookie and browser storage entry whose name begins with ph_. When you submit a form on this site, we pass your email address, name and company to PostHog, so the visits made earlier on that browser are linked to you; without a form submission, the history stays tied only to the random ID. Data is processed in the United States.
Opt out: block or delete these cookies and site data in your browser, or contact us to have your PostHog record removed. See the PostHog Privacy Policy.
HubSpot
HubSpot is the system where we keep contact records. Its tracking code records the pages a browser views on this site against a random visitor ID kept in the first-party cookie hubspotutk, alongside __hstc, __hssrc and __hssc, which track sessions. A domain checked with the front-door grader is recorded as part of that visit. When you submit a form on this site, we pass the visitor ID with it, so the pages you viewed before are linked to your contact record. Without a form submission the history stays tied only to the random ID, though HubSpot may report the company a visit came from, based on the network address.
Opt out: block or delete these cookies in your browser, or contact us to have your contact record and its history removed. See the HubSpot Privacy Policy and the cookies HubSpot sets.
4. Embedded and Third-Party Content
Reportable newsroom. Our press releases are published through Reportable. The Newsroom page lists them on our own site and loads release images from Reportable's image host, which sets no cookies here. Following a link to a full release takes you to Reportable's site, where its Privacy Policy applies.
Google Fonts. The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests the font files from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details in doing so. This sets no cookie.
5. Managing Cookies
Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. Blocking them stops the cookies described above, and the site works without them. A browser or extension that sends Global Privacy Control, or that blocks trackers, also limits these tags. Each provider's opt-out is linked in the sections above.
6. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR and CCPA)
Individuals in the EEA or California may have rights to access personal information or opt out under applicable law. See the Privacy Policy for details.
7. Changes to This Policy
When we add or remove a tag, this page is updated and the effective date above changes.
